Η Γκαλερί THEOREMA έχει την τιμή να σας προσκαλέσει στα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης “μελόδραμα” της ζωγράφου Σοφίας Καλογεροπούλου, παρουσία της ζωγράφου, την Πέμπτη 28 Νοεμβρίου 2013, από 18:00 έως 21:00. Η έκθεση θα παραμείνει ανοιχτή για το κοινό μέχρι τις 11 Ιανουαρίου 2014

“ΜΕΛΟΔΡΑΜΑ”
Νέα σειρά έργων της Καλογεροπούλου με θέμα τη μυστική σχέση ηρώων όπερας (μελοδράματος), μουσικών ορχήστρας και κοινού σε ένα περιβάλλον μεταξύ ονείρου και πραγματικότητας, στο πλαίσιο συνδιάλεξης μουσικής, ζωγραφικής και καθημερινότητας. Το ζωγραφικό ιδίωμα, ας το ονομάσουμε naïf ιδίωμα που αγάπησε τόσο πολύ ο Picasso και εκφράστηκαν μεγαλειωδώς ο H. Rousseau στη Γαλλία, η grandma Moses στις ΗΠΑ και ο ανυπέρβλητος τρελλομυτιληνιός Θεόφιλος στην Ελλάδα.

Utilisant le véhicule du temps, Kalogeropoulou nous amène d’hier à aujourd’hui et à demain, ouvrant de nouveaux chemins tant à l’art qu’au paysage culturel de notre pays.

“MELODRAME”
La nouvelle série d’oeuvres de Kalogeropoulou porte sur la relation secrète entre héros d’opéra (mélodrame), chef d’orchestre et public, dans un état entre le rêve et la réalité et de conversation entre la musique, la peinture et la vie quotidienne. Cet idiome pictural, appelons-le idiome naïf, tant aimé par Picasso, qui a majestueusement été exprimé par H. Rousseau en France, Grandma Moses aux États-Unis et en Grèce par ΄΄l’enfant fou΄΄ de Mytilène, l’inégalé Theophilos.

About the Artist

Sophia Kalogeropoulou, is well known to a wide audience for her painting style. The painter adopts the Naif style, which is used to describe the work of self-taught artists, for its directness and genuine, natural expression. Like children, she releases her endless imagination on canvas and creates images full of colour, that are reminiscent of folk art embroidery. She expresses herself in a surrealistic way under the reassuring disguise of Naiveism, but at the same time expands into time until today and much further. The titles of her paintings convey the important role of narrative in Sofia Kalogeropoulou’s work, as well as her positive view on life.

Sophia was born in Athens, Greece, in 1946 and is a graduate of the American College of Greece (Pierce College). She has studied Law and Political-Economic Sciences at the University of Athens. She has studied also Music at the Athens Conservatory and at the Studio of the Vienna State Opera (Austria). She appeared as a soloist in the Vienna State Opera (1976-77). In the art of painting, she is self-taught, and has participated in many art exhibitions in Greece and abroad (Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Israel, Turkey, USA). She is a collaborator of the “Gallery Naifs and Primitifs” in Paris. She is married to the composer-musicologist Takis Kalogeropoulos and she has two daughters: Dione and Daphne.
