About the Artist
Rena Avayianou was born 1966 in Athens, where she lives and works.
She has graduated (1991) from the School of Architecture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She continued her studies in the Athens School of Fine Arts (1994-1998) under the supervision of Prof. Kokkinidis (laboratory of painting) and Prof. Milios (laboratory of engraving) where she graduated in 1999.
She has worked as an architect and industrial designer. Since 1995 and until today, she teaches visual arts mainly in the Primary and Secondary education of Greece.
Rena Avayianou has realized four personal art exhibitions in Greece. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, among which, ‘Art-Athina’ (Athens 2013), ‘L’Art en Capital’ (Grand Palais, Paris, 2010) and at the Museum of Modern Art in Cluz, Romania 2002. Her paintings are included in public and private collections. She is responsible for the artwork of internationally-released cd covers and concert posters of the music band Sigmatropic
She has received an award at the International Art Competition: ‘Premio Internationale Spoleto Festival Art 2011’, in Spoleto, Italy. Her paintings are included in public collections (such as that of Hermoupolis-Syros Municipality, and the Museum of Modern Art in Cluz, Romania), as well as in private collections in Greece and abroad.
