Ο Γιώργος Γκολφίνος γεννήθηκε στο Βέλο Κορινθίας το 1948. Σπούδασε πρώτα γραφικές τέχνες στο Κέντρο Τεχνολογικών Εφαρμογών και στη συνέχεια στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. ζωγραφική με τον Γ. Μόραλη και σκηνογραφία με τον Β. Βασιλειάδη. Όλα τα χρόνια των σπουδών ήταν υπότροφος του Ι.Κ.Υ. και διακρίθηκε με 2 βραβεία και 5 επαίνους.
Με υποτροφία του Ι.Κ.Υ. συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στην Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts στο Παρίσι με τον J. Lagrange και μετά με τον L. Cremonini. Επίσης παρακολούθησε μαθήματα Τεχνολογίας Υλικών με τον Abraam Pingas στην ίδια σχολή.
Από το 1999 είναι καθηγητής ζωγραφικής στο Τμήμα Εικαστικών και Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών του Α.Π.Θ.
Είναι μέλος Ε.Ε.Τ.Ε. Από το 2005-2007 Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος.
Συμμετείχε σε επιτροπές του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και αλλού. Από το 1980 πραγματοποίησε πολλές ατομικές εκθέσεις σε Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο.
Συμμετείχε σε πολλές ομαδικές στην Ελλάδα-Κύπρο-Πολωνία-Γαλλία-Αγγλία-Γερμανία-Αμερική, επίσης 16e “Festivale International de la Peinture” (έπαινος) Γαλλία. 28e και 30e Salon de l’Art Contemporian de Montronge, Salon de Virty-sur-Siene, Γαλλία. “6+6” Benecetenaire de la Revolution Francais, Αθήνα-Nimes-Paris, “In Progress” Γερμανία και Ολλανδία, “Earth-Sing-Earth” Γερμανία, «Dialogues-Διάλογοι» Palais d’ lena, Παρίσι. About the Artist
Giorgos Golfinos was born in Velo Corinth in 1948. First studied graphic design at the Center for Applied Technology and subsequently he studied in ASFA (Athens School of Fine Arts) painting with G. Moralis and scenography with V. Vassiliadis. In all of his years of study he was a scholar of States Scholarships Foundation and was honored with 2 awards and 5 praise.
With a scholarship from the States Scholarships Foundation he continued his studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris with J. Lagrange and L. Cremonini. He also attended courses on Materials Technology with Abraam Pingas at the same school.
Since 1999 he is a professor of painting at the Visual and Applies Arts Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a member of Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
The period 2005-2007 he was Chairman of the Visual and Applied Arts Department, School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He has participated in committees of the Ministry of Culture and elsewhere. From 1980 he made several solo exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus.
